Biographical History

The Ökumenische Marienschwesternschaft is an Evangelical Sisterhood located in Darmstadt. Founded in 1947, the community’s sisters are strongly devoted to Ecumenism and Jewish-Christian dialogue.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding a visit and a public talk by Alfred Wiener at the sisterhood in Darmstadt, and the visit of a sister in London. Furthermore, the mutual consignment of published and unpublished material as well as an enquiry by the Library for technical support for a survivor interview for the institution’s eyewitness testimony project is discussed. Beside letters, a flyer from the Kirchentag 1956, and clipping from a British journal with an article about the sisterhood.
