Biographical History

The donors' parents were Hanna and Peter Singer. Peter died in 2017 and Hanna in 2018. They both came to England as child refugees from Nazi Germany before the Second World War. Peter Singer's sister, Susanne settled in Brazil with her husband Alexander Nathan. Alexander and Anne Singer were both dentists and had separate practices in Nuremberg. They sent Peter to England, under the sponsorship of Lord Nathan and the West London Synagogue. Peter met Hanna Cohn at a social group for refugees, ‘The Hyphen’, and they married in 1955.
