Biographical History
The family was Jewish (Goldstein) and had connections to Columbia, South America. The owner of this ephemera was Juan Felipe Saenz Goldstein. He was born in 1936. His father, Luis Goldstein, was born in 1889. Both appeared to have been engineers in the Columbian military. There are passport stamps for the father traveling to Germany in the late 1930's. It appears that the son at some point in the 1960s came to America and changed his name to his hispanic root, dropping the Goldstein. Included are papers relating to a Leopold and Sophie Gruenwald who apparently committed suicide in Vienna in 1942. They were possibly related to Paula Goldstein as evidenced by an envelope addressed to her from the Gruenwalds in Vienna, dated 1941
