Biographical History

The original cassette recording made in 1991 includes reminiscences about Hedwig's life in Vienna before and after the Anschluss, her escape with the donor's father and grandfather from Vienna to Albania, their eventual arrival in England in August 1939, and the disappearance of 4 of her 5 siblings. It also covers Hedwig's husband's internment on the Isle of Man, their life in Leeds and later in London.
