Biographical History

Martin Berger was born in 1897 in Zwickau, Saxony. He was a German Jewish immigrant to Great Britain who was interned in Australia, having been sent there on HMS Dunera, He was a member of the Amalgamated Engineering Union, The Trade Union Centre for German Workers in Great Britain and the Free German League of Culture in Great Britain. He was the second husband of the donor's Great Aunt.
