Biographical History
The Tábor District Court began to operate in 1850, being part of the district of the Tábor Regional Court. It also worked as the district criminal court. District Court Tábor I was abolished on January 29, 1949. The agenda of the abolished district court was taken over by the People's Court in Tábor.
Archival History
The file material of the District Court in Tábor was transferred in 1949 from the court registry office to the then Regional Depository. The documents of the District Court were transferred from the State Archives in Třeboň after 1960 into the District Archives in Tábor. The fonds was organized in 1958, and in 1960 a revision was carried out. In 1972, another revision, an addition, an internal appraisal and cataloging of criminal records took place. After this date, the fonds was being added to until 2008.
Scope and Content
The fonds contains documents of the Tábor I District Court from the years 1850-1949 (1984), concerning the civil and criminal agendas, as well as the agenda for the establishment of new land registers. As part of the inheritance agenda (file no. D), there are the inheritance proceedings of Jews who died during World War II, for example in concentration camps, dealt with especially in 1946.
