Biographical History

The origin, organization and competence of district national committees as new state bodies were first established by the Constitutional Decree No. 18 of the President of the Republic of 1944. The Blatná District National Committee was established in 1945. It ceased to exist due to a territorial reorganization in 1960.

Archival History

The fonds has been preserved almost untouched. First, the materials of the fonds were stored in the District National Committee of Blatná. Before the abolition of the District National Committee of Blatná in 1960, the files were handed over to the District National Committee of Strakonice. The first transfer of files to the Strakonice District Archives took place in 1957, and then further transfers took place. The last acquisition took place in 2015. In 2018, the fonds was reorganized, and an inventory was made.

Scope and Content

The fonds contains documents of the district people's administration and delegated state administration, documenting the economic, political, social and cultural conditions of the former Blatná district. It contains official books, file material and accounting material. Jewish issues can be found in the following areas: commission of inquiry (list of Jews in the district, anti-Jewish action) 1940-1946, citizenship - sorted alphabetically by name (J. Stein, representative of Bata's enterprises in Africa) (1910) 1945-1948, Jewish religious municipality (inventory of property) 1945-1950.
