Biographical History

In 1848, a municipal administration was established. The town was headed by the municipal council with the mayor. A new judicial district was established in Říčany in 1850, and a political district was established in 1855, with the exception of the period of 1855-68, when there was a mixed political-judicial district office. It was part of the district governor's office in Jílové, later in Český Brod, Žižkov, and Praha-Okolí. The district governor's office was renamed in 1918 the district political administration. The district governors were at the head of the district political administrations. In 1942, the District Office was abolished, only the judicial district remained, being annexed to the District Office of Praha-venkov-jih.
