Biographical History
The district governor's office in Pardubice began its activities on February 1, 1850. On May 26, 1855, it was transformed into a mixed district office, which was subordinated to the regional office in Chrudim as the second administrative instance. From 31 August 1868, the district governor's office was restored. In 1919, its name was changed to district political administration, which lasted until 1928. The Act on the New Organization of Political Administration No. 125/1927 changed the structure of the state apparatus, in which district authorities became the first instance of political administration.
Archival History
The appraisal proceedings, archival revisions and transfer of documents from the Pardubice District National Committee to the state archives took place in the years 1955-1957. The files were arranged according to the registration plans valid for the district authorities in the years 1850-1945 (1948). An inventory of the organized fonds was made in 1957. In 1983, the fonds was transferred to the district archives. In the district archives, the fonds was re-organized, supplemented with additions and inventoried in 1989. In 2013, a handling list was made for the census agenda and the so-called water book.
