Acquisition
Broumov Amstgericht (District Court) archival fonds was handed over in 1951 by the former Interior Ministry to the Kuks State Archives, where it was sorted out from the handed Broumov District Judicial fonds, Teplice nad Metují District Judicial and Broumov Amstgericht (District Court)fonds. After 1960 it was administratively transferred to the Náchod District Archives, but for lack of space it stayed physically stored in Kuks, under the administration of the State Regional Archives in Zámrsk. It was physically moved to the State District Archives in Náchod only in 1991.
Scope and Content
The fonds consist of archival fonds of the Broumov District Judicial Administration (for the cities of Broumov, Meziměstí and their vicinity) in the Reichsgau Sudetenland (Sudeten Region)of the German Reich. The inventory includes very brief entries. There are no specific mentions of Jews, the local Jewish community of the Broumov District was small, organization-wise it belonged to the Náchod religious community. Possible mentions may be probably found in the inheritance agenda.
