Landratsamt (District Councillor’s Office) of Mikulov (Landrat Nikolsburg)
Extent and Medium
9,02 linear meters
Acquisition
The written documents of the fonds suffered considerable losses at the end of the Second World War, the most important files were destroyed by Nazi officials, a part was destroyed in the passage of the front. The remainder of the front was unknown when transferred to the District State Archives in Mikulov, where it was arranged in 1962.
Scope and Content
The fonds contains only written documents relating to the period of the holocaust, primarily this concerns documents on Jewish registers within the framework of the agenda of the “Standesamts” (call number V) from 1939 and documents on the Aryanisation of Jewish property in 1939 (call number IX). Relevant information shall evidently also be contained in other documents of the fonds.
System of Arrangement
The fonds respects two types of original registry keys. Until the middle of 1939 the original registry key of the Czechoslovak district offices, structured into material call number designated with Roman numerals I-XII, was used, the relevant call numbers here are primarily (V) Ecclesiastical matters and (IX) Opt-out contracts, lease of lands, Aryanisation. In the middle of 1939 it was replaced by a key of the decimal system, which due to the large losses of the fonds cannot be reliably reconstructed.
