Acquisition
The Amtsgericht's (District Court) fonds was first stored at the court building in Lovosice, from whence it was transferred to the court registry office in Litoměřice in 1960 after the Lovosice court was closed. Appraisal proceedings was conducted by the State Archives in Litoměřice in 1949 – 1967; the fonds was then inventoried in 1967. It was transferred to the district archives in 1979. A small part of the documents however remained in the court's registry office; these materials made their way to the district archives in 2013.
Scope and Content
The archival fonds comprises documents resulting from the activities of the court operating in the Lovosice judicial district in 1938-1945. Jewish matters only show up in file L – forced administration of Jewish property 1940-1943 (inv. No. 128).
System of Arrangement
The official books have been preserved only in fragments; these are followed by relatively well preserved registry finding aids, then files. The court files are stored by original sytem in the following groups II. – general and auxilliary files, III. - files, IV. – court files, V. – inheritance court, VI. - debt service office.
