Acquisition

Files were stored in the registry office of the court. After the war, they were taken over into the registry office of the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem based in Bílina. They were taken to the branch of the State Archives in Liberec in 1963. An inventory and index were created in 1964 for the personal files of higher-ranking employees. Internal appraisal was performed of the divorce files in 2002 and a new inventory was created for the fonds.

Scope and Content

The fonds contains documents of the regular agenda of the regional court in the period of occupation. Documents are preserved in the fonds relating to liquidation of Jewish companies. Court files – Bankruptcies are preserved from 1938–1942 (inv. № 13). Ownership changes of the companies of individuals and joint stock companies are documented by books of company records held according to district courts from 1939-1945 (inv. № 15–36) and files of individual companies (inv. № 41).

System of Arrangement

Presidium files have not been preserved. From the civil department of disputed and undisputed judiciary, the largest part of the files is made up of marital matters. As regards corporate files, the files of registered companies are of bigger importance.
