Biographical History
The District Office of Čáslav worked in the years of 1855-1945. In the years of 1868-1945, it included the territories of two judicial districts: Čáslav and Bamberg. In the years of 1855-68, there was a separate mixed district office in Habry. Until 1855, Čáslav was part of the district governor's office in Kutná Hora. Until 1868, the office dealt with the mixed political and judicial agenda. After 1868, the district governor's office was established in Čáslav, renamed the district political administration in 1919. The office was abolished in 1945.
Archival History
The documents of the Čáslav District 0ffice were handed over to the district archives in Kutná Hora in 1961 from the state archives in Zámrsk. In the 1960s, the documents were organized, and an inventory list was made for them. Another part of the fonds was handed over from Zámrsk in the 1970s and was also organized and provided with an inventory list. The common registry included in the handling period has been completely preserved for the period after 1900, until then only in fragments. After all amendments had been added to the fonds, a new inventory was made in 2004.
