Acquisition
The documents of the Landrat (district councillor) Kadaň, or the joint Landrat for the districts of Kadaň and Přísečnice, remained, after the termination of its activities, stored in the office building (after 1945, it was the seat of the District National Committee Kadaň). From there, they were handed over in 1954 to the then State Archives in Kadaň (the regional archives for the then Karlovy Vary region). After the 1960 territorial administration reform, the archive collection was transferred to the State Archives Litoměřice (since 1974, the State Regional Archives Litoměřice) in 1961-1968. The archival collection was first arranged at the State Archives Kadaň and then it was re-arranged in 1975 at the State Regional Archives Litoměřice. From there, it was in 1979 transferred to the District Archives Chomutov, based in Kadaň (since 1992, the State District Archives Chomutov, based in Kadaň).
