Amtsgericht (District Court) of Kadaň
Extent and Medium
5,38 linear meters
Acquisition
After the abolition of the Amtsgericht Kaaden (District Court in Kadan) in 1945 the documents remained stored in the court building in Kadan. In 1954, they were taken over by the State Archives Kadan (the then archives of Karlovy Vary region) and were provisionally arranged. After the 1960 territorial administration reform the archive collection was transferred to the State Archives in Litomerice in 1968 (since 1974, the State Regional Archives Litomerice). There, some civil files found in the Regional Court in Most and some criminal files from the archive collection of the Regional Court in Most were added to the archive collection. The complete archive collection was arranged and inventoried in 1968. In 1979, the archive collection was transferred to the District Archives Chomutov, based in Kadan (since 1992, the State District Archives Chomutov, based in Kadan).
Scope and Content
In the materials concerning the criminal agenda there are files relating to the breach of the duty to use the supplemental first name Israel for Jewish men, and Sára for Jewish women, 1940.
System of Arrangement
The arranged part of the archive collection contains only the files concerning cases (only the actual court agenda). The files of the actual court agenda were divided into the civil and criminal ones.
