Biographical History
The District National Committee in Jičín was established in 1945 pursuant to a government decree, with the authority to manage all public affairs in the district. The main body was the plenary, and another body was the council, which managed the official apparatus of the national committees, its members chairing individual departments. After 1948, the actual performance of the administration was ensured by the District National Committee council, which consisted of the chairman, deputies, and officials. The District National Committee in Jičín was canceled in 1990.
Archival History
Throughout its activities, documents from the activities of the district national committee were stored in one registry, where they were sorted according to the valid file plans. From 1961, the documents intended for permanent storing were gradually handed over to the Jičín District Archives. In 1970, an inventory was made for the activities of the office carried out in 1945-1960, and in 1986 for the activities carried out in 1960-1976. In the years 1998-1999, the fonds was re-inventoried and supplemented by numerous additions. The files relating to land reforms and part of the financial files remain unprocessed.
