Biographical History
Founded in 1945, the District National Committee took over the agenda of the defunct District Office of Praha-venkov-jih. In 1949 the district was part of the Praha region and the name of the district was changed to Praha-jih. The district of Praha-jih was abolished and its territory became part of the district of Praha-západ in 1960.
Archival History
After the liquidation of the office, the central registry office was transferred to the new District National Committee Praha-západ. Most of the documents were transferred to the District Archives of Praha-západ. Most of the fonds consists of file material. Official books have been preserved to a lesser extent. The fonds was organized, and an inventory was made to it in 1966. The fonds also contains documents concerning the expulsion of the Germans.
Scope and Content
The fonds originated from activities of the District National Committee of Praha-venkov-jih and Praha-jih in 1945-1960. It contains documents arisen from activities of the district office. VII/1-17 (1946–1947); inv. no. 309 File material of the dissolved Jewish religious communities, call no. VII/1-64 (1947); inv. no. 319 Report of the Jewish population, call no. VII/25-1 (1946).
