Biographical History

The Skuteč District Court was established in 1849. In 1855, a mixed district office was established in Chrudim, which administered all administrative, tax and judicial matters. In1867, the mixed district offices were again divided into separate district courts and district offices. The court in Skuteč functioned from 1868 to 1949, when it was affiliated with the District, later People's Court of Hlinsko.

Archival History

The fonds is stored in the State District Archives in Chrudim. It was organized in 1959. In 2001, the fonds was re-evaluated as unprocessed, as a large number of archive material was gradually added.

Scope and Content

The fonds contains documents of the court administration of the Skuteč district. Jewish affairs can be found in the following documents: estate files marked A, D, IV), index of estates, registers of estates. Also relevant are the files relating to the declarations of death (file M) 1945-1950, guardianship files and registers (files E, P).

System of Arrangement

The fonds contains file material, official books, indexes, and file registry plans. The files are arranged according to call numbers assigned by the court, and chronologically. With the knowledge of the time in which the file originated, it is possible to search something to a limited extent.
