Acquisition

After the war, the remains of individual German courts from our territory were vetted by state prosecutors’ offices and courts. In some places, the files have been newly handled to indices of regional courts or prosecution offices or handed over as separate whole sections to the state archives. All parts from courts and the State Archives in Opava were gradually concentrated in the Moravian Provincial Archives in Brno and arranged as separate whole sets. The civil agenda of the Landgericht (Reichs Provincial Court) was taken over by the Moravian Provincial Archives in Brno from the Regional Court in 1963, when the agenda was also inventoried. The criminal agendas were accepted in multiple parts, and the first part was inventoried in 1962. The files from branches of the court were transferred in 1957 to the former state archives in Telč, where they were arranged. In 1963, the files were transferred to Brno and combined with the existing fonds, and in 1964 the old inventory was rearranged. In 1968 the criminal agendas were completed, and the fonds was rearranged.
