Biographical History
The Bulgarian National Bank is the central bank of the Republic of Bulgaria with its headquarters in Sofia. It is one of the oldest national institutions established right after the restoration of the Bulgarian state, on January 25, 1879. The Bulgarian National Bank branch in Komotini (Bulgarian name: Gyumyurdzhina), in Bulgaria-occupied Western Thracia existed from 1941 to 1944.
