Toelichting: bevat 43 dossiers uit een oorspronkelijk klassement van 63 nummers, alfabetisch gerangschikt op naam van de stoomschepen. Een lijst vooraan in inventarisnummer 808 geeft aan hoe 20 dossiers werden geselecteerd, hetzij door de DIV, hetzij door de DER.

Naast het hoofdkantoor in Brussel telde de DIV filialen in Antwerpen, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, La Palle, Marseille, Montpellier, Parijs en Rochefort.
