Biographical History

On 14 December 1940 the municipality of Borgerhout informed all its staff members about the exclusion of Jews from public office, based on the German anti-Jewish decree of 28 October 1940.

Archival History

Gaston Lacroix, second husband of the donor's mother-in-law, obtained the documents in the course of his resistance activities for the Witte Brigade [White Brigade]. Gaston Lacroix's sister was a school teacher. Therefore this circular might have been her personal copy.
