Biographical History

The Catholic School in Travnik was founded by order of "Sestre Milosrdnice sv. Vinka Paulovskog". These nuns first formed a school in Dolac near Travnik, and after that formed an elementary school (4 years) and high school (another 4 years of education).

Elementary school was attended by both boys and girls, while high school was only for girls. The archival holding includes records for elementary school only. The school was attended by all confessions. Majority of students were Catholic or Jewish, while some were Muslim and Orthodox.

Scope and Content

Contains records (mainly class books and registars) of Elementary Catholic school in Travnik, from 1881 to 1945. Significant part of student body were Jews from Travnik and the region.
