  2. Doll given to a young Jewish girl who escaped Germany on the Kindertransport

    A doll given to Esther Rosenfeld as a child by Dorothy Harrison when she was in the United Kingdom. Dorothy Harrison was the mother of the family that was caring for Esther after she arrived on the Kindertransport. She received the doll for Esther from an acquaintance who brought it over to the Harrison's home once she found out that Esther was a refugee living with the family in Norwich, England.

    Consists of the Central Registry-Subject Files: correspondence and cables; reports of the office of the Chief Mission Welfare and Repatriation Division; financial documents of the Department of Finance, and reports and correspondence of the Departments of Supply. Records relate to welfare of displaced persons, child care and maternal welfare, movement of Jewish children to France and Belgium, 1944-1949; repatriation from Germany; welfare activities of the International Student Service, Save the Children Fund, Unitarian Service Committee, Quakers and other organizations.

  7. UNRRA selected records AG-018-017 : Denmark Mission

    Consists of monthly reports, statistics, financial records and correspondence relating to assistance to displaced persons, repatriation cases, tracing of war victims, and welfare activities of the Danish Red Cross and other voluntary agencies.

    Appeal for Czech Jewish refugees who have arrived in Britain following the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Germany. The appeal was broadcast by Earl(?) Baldwin. Footage shows Baldwin at his desk, refugees at a tent camp, INTs mess hall, girls cleaning barracks, and young men writing letters.

    The Bert Yost letter was sent by Bert Yost, an American soldier, to Lt. Dorothy Mosely, a nurse serving in United States military hospitals in Britain and France during World War II. The letter , dated May 10, 1945, describes the military hospital where Yost was stationed in occupied Germany.
