  7. R. Bruce Culbreth collection

    Contains a program titled “War-Crime / Trials / Nurnberg / Germany / Nov. 20, 1945 -” that includes a typed floor plan of courtroom and a list and description of each of the defendants. The program was kept by Pfc. R. Bruce “Slim” Culbreth (donor’s father), a member of the US Army’s 302nd Infantry, 94th Division during WWII and who served as a guard during the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg.

The 129th Regiment crosses the river, machine guns the post office, and enters and fights in Intramuros (Feb. 23). The Legislative Building is attacked and entered by the 148th Regiment. Gen. MacArthur and President Osmefla visit the city and address the legislature.

    The collection consists of papers, photographs, and printed matter from the military service of Lester M. Libo. Includes items related to his denazification work including his personal notebook, Fragebogen used in denazification and confiscated items including propaganda material, money, medals, and a piece of cloth with a swastika insignia. In addition, several newspapers and an issue of Army Talks (28 October 1945) and posted military government notices.

  19. Generals Sikorski and Anders review marching troops in Iraq

    Part of reel 1. A line of people wait for food distribution by the British Military Administration in the administrative division of Tripolitania. They receive canned and dried rations. They appear to be of a variety of ethnicities, identified by the Imperial War Museums catalog record as “Maltese, Indians, Greeks, Jews, and Sudanese.” Another scene shows children receiving bread. One of the distributors wears an armband with a cross on it.
