Norbert (Nissen) and Mina (Menie) Butterklee, of Vienna, Austria, sent their children, Samuel and Paula, to the United States to escape Nazi persecution. Though they attempted to obtain visas for themselves, Norbert and Mina were unsuccessful, and perished during the Holocaust.
