History

Party archive in Voronezh was created in 1929 under the name Oblast Party Archive of the Central Chernozem (Black soil) Oblast. According to the changes in the administrative sustem, the archive was renamed in 1934 as the Oblast Party Archive of the Voronezh Oblast. During the World War II the archival holdings were evacuated to Chkalov (Orenburg). In 1991 the party archive became the Documentation Centre of the Recent History of Voronezh Oblast, later it was renamed and obtained its present name.

Archive is operating on the basis of Law established by the Administration of the Voronezh Oblast (State Archive of Social and Political History of Voronezh Oblast) from 27 May 2011, № 769 and confirmed by the Regional Archival Authorities, 1 June 2011, № 32-О.

  • Completition, Organization and State Securing and Registration of the Documents.

  • Information, Publication and Scientific Usage of the Documents

  • Maintenance and Technology Department.

Since 1973 the archive is located in its present seat at Ordzhonikidze street.

Opening Times

Reading Room of the archive is opened:

Monday-Thursday: 9.30 am - 5 pm, Friday: 9.30 am - 4 pm.

Conditions of Access

Researchers can work in the archival reading room after prior notice and agreeing their visit with the staff of the archive.
