History

The Foundation for Individual Insurance Claims for the Shoah (SIVS) was established on 9 November 1999. The purpose of the Foundation is to ascertain whether an individual is entitled to a payment from an insurance policy; a life insurance policy of an insured affected by the war who was persecuted because of his or her Jewishness. This insurance must be taken out with an insurer who is a member of the Verbond van Verzekeraars (Dutch Association of Insurers). In line with this, the aim of the Foundation is - depending on the assessment by the Board - to grant someone a payment.
