History

A part of the museum's permanent collection holds a number of items related to the town's Jewish history/ community. Also, see the book by Alen Budaj, "Vallis Judea - the History of the Požega Jewish Community (available only in Croatian under "Vallis Judea-Povijest požeške židovske zajednice"). The title gives an overview of the history of the town's Jewish community, their overwhelming relevance for the cultural and economic life of the area, as well as explains well the perishing of the community in the Holocaust and details the number and names of survivors (and perpetrators).
