Opening Times

The reading room is open on the following days and hours:

  • Tuesday from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm;
  • Wednesday from 9 am to 5.30 pm;
  • Thursday from 9am to 5.30pm.

Conditions of Access

The reading room of the Departmental Archives is open to all citizens, regardless of age or nationality. Registration is free of charge, on presentation of a valid identity document (national identity card, passport, driving licence), after having completed a registration form. Registration is valid for the current calendar year.

When you register, you will be given a strictly personal reader's card, which you will need to request original documents or consult digitised documents.

Please note: a maximum of 2 documents can be reserved. Requests must be made before 12 noon for the following day.

Any other documents you wish to consult should be ordered directly from the presiding staff, during the day, according to the following times

  • Tuesday - 1.45pm - 2.15pm - 2.45pm - 3.15pm - 3.45pm - 4.15pm - 4.45pm.

  • Wednesday and Thursday - 9.15am - 9.45am - 10.15am - 10.45am - 11.15am - 11.45am - 12.15am - 12.45pm - 1.15pm - 1.45pm - 2.45pm - 3.15pm - 3.45pm - 4.15pm - 4.45pm.

Research Services

If your message concerns a research request, please note that the Archives of the Hautes-Pyrénées do not carry out any genealogical research for several years now, unless there is a duly proven legal or administrative need. This is in order to better focus on the fundamental missions of the service (collection, classification, inventory, etc.).

Furthermore, due to the number of requests received, a more or less long period is necessary to process them. This situation obliges a specific treatment.
