The archives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) form a repository of data about victims of the First and Second World Wars, collected by the ICRC while performing its humanitarian work during these conflicts.
In the case of the First World War, the ICRC archives for individuals have been digitalised and can be searched online at http://grandeguerre.icrc.org. If you are looking for information about anybody (whether members of the military or civilians) detained during the Second World War, you can submit your request at https://www.icrc.org/en/who-we-are/history/second-world-war.
