  1. Shifra Senderowicz. Collection

    This collection contains one video-interview with Shifra Senderowicz recorded at Kazerne Dossin, one wedding book dating from 1940 of Jenö (Jano) Grünberger and Cecilia Stern, one Belgian passport of Shifra Senderowicz and fifteen photographs of her family members including Jenö (Jano) Grünberger, Cecilia Stern, Chaskel Stern, Miriam Brohner, Marie Grünberger and others.

  2. SI Antwerpen 1996.

    Het bestand SI Antwerpen 1996 bevat onder andere een rol met betrekking tot gedetineerden die, op bevel van de Belgische Staatsveiligheid, na de Duitse inval op 10 mei 1940 in de gevangenis van Antwerpen werden opgesloten in afwachting van hun transport naar andere bestemmingen. Gezien de vluchtelingenproblematiek van eind jaren ’30, bevinden zich onder hen hoogstwaarschijnlijk ook Joodse gevangenen.

  3. SI Merksplas 1996 A.

    Dit bestand bevat uitsluitend de reeks opsluitingsdossiers uit de periode 1921-1950. Het gaat in totaal om 390 pakken met daarin individuele dossiers. Gezien de vluchtelingenproblematiek van eind jaren ’30, bevinden zich onder hen hoogstwaarschijnlijk ook Joodse gevangenen.

  4. SI Merksplas 1996 B.

    In dit bestand zijn een aantal nummers relevant. Vooreerst vermelden we de nrs. 26 en 28 die inkomende en uitgaande briefwisseling bevatten, hoofdzakelijk met de Staatsveiligheid (die de post van de geïnterneerden controleerde). In deze nummers bevinden zich eveneens lijsten van geïnterneerden, waaronder (gezien de vluchtelingenproblematiek van die periode) wellicht ook Joden. Daarnaast vinden we onder nr. 212 lijsten van Joodse geïnterneerden in de Duitse afdeling die met de verschillende transporten zijn aangekomen (1942-1943).   5. SI Merksplas, Duitse afdeling.

    Dit bestand omvat archiefmateriaal gevormd door de zgn. Duitse afdeling van de gevangenis te Merksplas. We noteren onder andere briefwisseling, dienstorders, allerlei soorten lijsten in verband met de gevangenispopulatie, bevolkingsregisters, instructies en reglementen, archief van de boekhouding en medische dienst, enzoverder. In verband met de politieke gevangenen in deze instelling wijzen we vooral op de reeks opsluitingsdossiers, geordend volgens datum van uitschrijving.   6. SI Sint-Andries 1992.

    We vinden in dit archiefbestand een aantal relevante dossiers terug. Nr. 30 is een dossier inzake de organisatie van de eredienst (waaronder ook de joodse) in de gevangenis voor de periode 1940-1967. Interessant zijn ook de dossiers over het “Interneringscentrum voor vreemdelingen”, zie nrs. 41 en 64. Het gaat o.a. om lijsten van en briefwisseling over vreemdelingen die na de Duitse aanval van mei 1940 naar Zuid-Frankrijk (o.a. Gurs) waren overgebracht.

  7. Silberberg-Litmanowicz family. Collection

    This collection is highlighted by a prisoner uniform from Auschwitz, stitched together by Benjamin Silberberg, a survivor of the camp, from original fabric swatches sourced from various Auschwitz camp uniforms collected during the liberation of the camp. Notably, one of these swatches bears the prisoner number 133427, belonging to Chil Icek alias Jacques Raffeld, a deportee from the Dossin barracks who endured internment at Auschwitz and Jaworzno before being repatriated to Belgium in 1945.     This collection contains : a photo of Simon Heymans, two letters sent by Simon Heymans while imprisoned at Saint-Gilles, Brussels, to his wife and daughter in Tilburg, including lists of goods he wanted to receive and information on the procedure to visit him ; a postcard sent by Simon Heymans while detained at the Dossin barracks to his wife, misses Heymans-Bollekamp, and their daughter.

    This collection consists of photos of Adolphe Sokolski, his wife Sosia Gruszka and their three daughters Jacqueline, Arlette and Francine, as well as newspaper clippings regarding the 70th anniversary of the anti-Jewish raid in Douai and Lens, France (11 September 1942), during which the family was arrested.

    The Steinhardt-Safier family collection contains 28 photos showing the prewar Steinhardt and Safier family life : pictures taken on boat rides during vacations, wedding photos taken at a synagogue in Berlin, baby pictures of Harry Henri Steinhardt, family parties and Passover celebrations, and the Safier family at their bakery in Berlin. The collection also contains a post-war letter from the Belgian Ministry of Public Affairs confirming the deportation of the Steinhardt-Safier family and two family trees clarifying the ties between the Steinhardt and Safier families.
