    Wool checked travel blanket given to 13 year old Mimi Alice Schleissner by her mother Berta to keep her warm when she left on the Kindertransport in May 1939. Mimi's parents Berta and Julius and her brother Edi, 18, stayed behind in Kolin, Czechoslovakia. Until October 1938, the family resided in the spa town Marienbad [now Marianske Lazne], in the Sudetenland region. The diary, which covers the period of July 24, 1940 to August 9, 1941, describes the Vogel family's life in exile in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, France and concludes on the day the family arrived from Europe in New York City in August 1941.

    Consists of a copy of "Das Krematorium in Dachau," an eyewitness report given by Willy Furlan-Horst shortly after the liberation of Dachau. The report describes the interior of the crematoria, the gas chambers, the procedures for torture and execution of prisoners, the duties of the Kommandos, and the facilities for housing the SS attack dogs.

  14. Theresienstadt ghetto-labor camp scrip, 20 kronen note

    Scrip, valued at 20 kronen, issued in the Theresienstadt (Terezin) ghetto-labor camp in 1943. All currency was confiscated from deportees upon entry and replaced with scrip and ration coupons that could be exchanged only in the camp. The Theresienstadt camp existed for 3.5 years, from November 24, 1941 to May 9, 1945. It was located in a region of Czechoslovakia occupied by Germany, renamed the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and made part of the Greater German Reich.

    Concentration camp uniform jacket worn by Benjamin Milich, age 30, in Auschwitz, Kaufering, and Dachau concentration camps from August 1944 to May 1945. The jacket has a hidden pocket and a patch with his Dachau prisoner ID number, 96699. Benjamin, his mother Rajzla, and his siblings Abram, Leib, and Anita lived in Łódź. In spring 1940, they were forced into the ghetto. In July 1942, Abram was sent to Auschwitz. In August 1944, Benjamin, Leib, and Anita were sent to Auschwitz.
