After the war, he was greatly involved in the collection of materials related to the fate of the Jews of Czechoslovakia during the Holocaust in general and the fate of the Jews of Ostrava in particular. Erben submitted part of the collection of memoirs, letters, photographs and documents he gathered to Yad Vashem.
