  1. Rysia Bialostocka photograph collection

    The photographs relate to Rysia Bialostocka's experiences in Bialystok, Poland, before World War II. The images consist of informal, outdoor shots of groups of teenagers and children as well as studio portraits of individuals.

  2. Chana Brava photograph collection

    The photographs depict memorials and memorial services to victims of the Holocaust in Lithuania and the mass burial of Holocaust victims by perpetrators and bystanders.

  3. Michael Glück papers

    The papers relate to Michael Glück, a professional soccer player in Hungary who was a prisoner in Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen during the Holocaust. The papers consist of a naturalization certificate giving United States citizenship to Michael Glück, a passport, and three documents.

  4. Russek family photograph

    Image is of Herman Yablokoff (donor's uncle), a prominent actor in Yiddish theater, holding Michael Russek [donor's son] upon the arrival of the Russeks in N.Y. on March 3, 1949. The Russeks had immigrated from a displaced persons camp in Germany with the assistance of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), as indicated by the pin on Michael's jacket.

  5. Joe Ross collection

    The papers consist of a letter written from Buchenwald concentration camp to Copenhagen, Denmark, and a postcard written from Sachsenhausen concentration camp to Josefka Kuspumerek in Radom, Poland.

  6. Gheller-Millberg papers

    The collection consists of a census card issued to Romanian Jews in 1942, a military book identifying a Jewish member of the Romanian military, an identification card issued by the commissar of Jewish affairs, a death certificate issued to Ifrim Gheller [donor's relative] who was killed in a pogrom in Iași, Romania, in 1941, and four identification/citizenship certificates issued to Ifrim and Sarika Gheller [donor's relatives].

  7. Eliezer Löwi photographs

    The photographs depict Eliezer Löwi's experiences after World War II in Belgium and Israel. The images consist of mostly portrait photographs of Eliezer Löwi as a young boy, at his Bar Mitzvah, and as a member of the Israeli Navy. Also included are a photograph of Mr. Löwi and his mother in Israel and a class portrait of schoolchildren in Antwerp, Belgium.

  9. Teich-Kutner family collection

    The collection consists of a letter written by Berish Teich donor's uncle from Opoczno, Poland, to Jacob and Salomea Teich Kutner [donor's parents] in Jamaica; a photograph of Berish Teich and his wife; and a newspaper clipping of the funeral announcement for Jacob Kutner.

  10. Generalbauinspekteur für die Reichshauptstadt records (A Pr. Br. Rep. 107)

    The collection consists of 407 files related to the construction plans for the new Reichshauptstadt. Jewish-owned properties were converted to housing for tenants displaced by demolitions as well as for important individuals. Each file includes several cases. Contains numerous land register documents with some references to Jewish forced laborers.

  11. Daniel P. Asnes papers

    The Daniel P. Asnes papers consist of a postcard and a document commemorating the anniversary of the liberation of Dachau concentration camp by the United States Army. The postcard depicts the Dachau concentration camp on the right side and the Statue of Liberty framed by a border of thorns or barbed wire. The document is titled "Day of Liberation" and is stamped "Tag der Befreiung Dachau."

  12. Bader family papers

    The papers consist of two letters. One letter was written in Belgium on September 8, 1939, by Alfred Bader donor's uncle to his sister, Regina Bader Webenow. This letter was the last communication that the Webenow family received from Alfred Bader before he perished in the Holocaust. The other letter was written on November 24, 1960, by Lully Bader [donor's uncle] and discusses Holocaust restitution issues.

    The document invites the recipient to a fundraiser for Keren Hayesod, the financial branch of the World Zionist Organization, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  19. Wartime SS officer's diary

    The wartime diary of an SS officer is written in German and is arranged chronologically although the year is unknown. The diary includes descriptions of events along with newspaper clippings and map. The dairy was taken from an SS officer by an unnamed Sergeant in the United States Army.

    HAS, Polish army parading through the streets of Warsaw, the cannons are drawn by horses, tanks roll by, men sweeping debris, motorcycle troops: this is a sign/prelude to war.
