The papers were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Dolf and Cato Ringel in 1993.

Scope and Content

The papers consist of an identification card ("Persoonsbewijs") for Taibe Hamersfeld Ringel [donor's mother], a forged identification card ("Carte d'Identité") issued to"Elisabeth Maria Breuder" for Elisabeth Parfumeur [donor's mother], three postcards from Frits and Elisabeth Parfumeur [donor's parents] written in covert language and signed with fictitious names, two postcards written by Eddy Parfumeur [donor's brother] in Jawischowitz concentration camp, a certificate of safe passage ("Sauf Conduit Provisoire") issued to Cato Ringel for travel, and a temporary permit of residence which allowed Cato Parfumeur [donor] to stay in Perpignan, France.
