  • Friedrich Christiansen was a German officer, who served in the German army in World War I and II. During World War II he was the commander of the German Wehrmacht in the Netherlands. Being in this office he ordered a raid on a village, the burning down of it, the shooting of civilians and the deportation of hundreds into labor camps, where from the majority never returned. Christiansen was convicted as a war criminal and was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. But he was released after 3 years -- (Wikipedia)
