Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement Number 145, dated 20 October 1940, regarding disbanding of the workers' committees, appointment of professional supervisors for workers' groups, issuing of special tags for workers and so on Production in the workshops and factories is low because unqualified workers are being hired and employed by the workers' committees. Announcement regarding adoption of the following changes: a. Disbanding of the workers' committees; workers will be hired by the manager of a professional committee appointed by Rumkowski; dismissal of unqualified personnel will be carried out by the professional manager; b. Appointment of a professionally qualified supervisor for every group of workers c. Issuing of special workers' tags to facilitate supervision over each worker; d. Ban on approaching German delegations visiting the workshops and factories; e. Publishing the times for meals and breaks in the places of work.
