A website that contains a database and a map with 1.448 Jewish students's names who attended 21 schools in Salonica during WWI and the Holocaust.
Scope and Content
The project consists of a database and a map containing information on 1.448 Jewish students such as: Name, Surname, Father’s Name, Age and/or Date of Birth, Class, Father’s profession and Address. All data were gathered from research into archives of 21 schools of Thessaloniki concerning the period from 1939-1943. The interactive map depicts the 21 schools that Jewish students attended, as well as their residencies according to the school archives. Many students have been identified as survivors or victims of the Holocaust.
