This personal account of life in Sachsenhausen was addressed to a Mrs Kerr in Johannesburg. The memoir is prefaced with the caveat that details of the author's experiences have been forgotten because after the imprisonment he deliberately tried to put the episode out of his mind. He describes himself as 82 years old at the time of writing.
