History
Archive was established in 1921 as the Central Historical Archive of the Stavropol Gubernya. In 1937 it became State Archive of the Ordzhonikidsky Kray and from 1943 State Archive of the Stavropol Kray.

One of the biggest archives in the North Caucasian region, holds 4759 record groups and over 1 million documents
Archive holds valuable collection of sources referring to the history of the Stavropol Country and North Caucasus from the end of the XVIII century (state institutions, courts, prosecutor offices, war and police departments, social and cultural organizations)

Reading room of the archive is opened:
Monday-Thursday: 9.00 am - 4.30 pm.
Friday: 9.00 am- 3.30 pm.
