Archival and Other Holdings
Especially valuable is the "Šik room" which refers to the Hebraica/Judaica collection of Lavoslav Schick/Šik, a Zagreb lawyer killed in the Holocaust in the Jasenovac concentration camp. Another part of his library and correspondence is in the National and University Library (NSK) in Zagreb ('trezor').
Finding Aids, Guides, and Publication
See publications such as "Jews in Croatia" (Melita Švob); "The Jewish Zagreb" (published by the Jewish Community Zagreb); or "Židovi u Zagrebu, 1918-1941" and "Holokaust u Zagrebu" by Ivo and Slavko Goldstein.
Opening Times
At the moment of writing, the archive and the library are closed to the public, but hopefully after renovation and help from the USHMM it will reopen.
Conditions of Access
Prior to research, one must write to the Jewish community Zagreb (ŽOZ Zagreb, Palmotićeva street) to explain reason of research, and if approved only then come at a previously scheduled time.
Accessibility
Zagreb city centre, a downtown walk-up.
