History

Since 1990, the archive of the foundation of the new synagogue Berlin - Centrum Judaicum has been continuously developing and expanding. The archive contains documents and records regarding Jewish communities, organizations and individuals from Germany until 1945, and after 1945 records mainly from Berlin and Eastern Germany.

Archival and Other Holdings

The collections currently consist of 400 meters of archival material, about 2,500 microfilms and over 10,300 microfiches. Holdings include but are not limited to: files of German Jewish communities (Central Archives of German Jewry, former Gesamtarchiv, microfilmed and digitized inventory), documents on the Jewish Community of Berlin; records from Jewish slave-labors in a Berlin factory, private records, among others.

Conditions of Access

Visits are possible with appointment (contact through post, telephone or email). Two reader printers are available for the use of microfilm / microfiche.
